Sunshine key rv resort

We made a plan back in March 2025 to get to the keys next winter. And it’s only October but it’s cold enough in GA to enjoy getting away.

We currently have the thousand trails adventure membership and are trying to get as much value out of it as possible. So we scheduled our end of year travels as soon as we could. We didn’t have any problems getting any of the campgrounds and have had great luck with the sites.

We initially planned to take only 2 days to get there. But changed at the last minute to 3 days since it was over 800 miles. We grabbed our grandson and hit the road. We did a quick harvest host night at trolley rv stop in Enigma, GA.

Then we headed to Florida. Made it to Topic RV resort just outside of Tampa. stayed just one night there. It was very nice. Then down to the keys. We made it to Sunshine Key RV resort and marina.

We got to our site and got setup. We were in Site 185. Which is an end site in the center of the park. Being on the end gave us a little extra space and we didn’t have to look at the back of the neighbors rig.

Site 185 was great, the wind would hit the nose of the trailer and go around. So we were comfortable at night. One day we got a full morning of sun and the door frame warped so it was hard to get in and out of the trailer.
